Adult Faith Formation

Baptism Preparation Class
First time parents are asked to attend a Baptism preparation class before scheduling their child's baptism. Class is held on the first Wednesday of each month as needed, from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in Room A. Baptisms are typically scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month after the 11:30 AM Mass, and on the 2nd Saturday of the month after the 4:00 PM Mass when no weddings are scheduled. Sacramental Preparation for Parents
Instructions are held for parents who wish to have their children baptized, or to have them receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. Dates and times of Sacramental Preparation are published in our Sunday bulletin, and via our parish school and PSR program.

Adult Bible Study
The Adult Bible Study is an opportunity to treasure and learn from the Word of God. Bible Study begins in the fall and is held weekly for 24 weeks with morning and evening sessions. The course involves reading the Bible, discussion by the participants and a DVD lecture by a Biblical expert. Lighthouse Catholic Media
Parishioners can learn about a variety of vital Catholic topics at their own convenience, listening to CD's at home or in the car. The CD's contain compelling talks from inspirational, well-known  Catholic speakers who are teachers, theologians, and apologists. Adult Confirmation
Adult practicing Catholics who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation  are encouraged to participate in the annual Diocesan Adult Confirmation retreat and celebration. For preparation and registration, contact Sister Ruth Hamel, O.P. at 267-9241 x293 or icsrhamel@gmail.com .

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.)
The R.C.I.A. is the process through which persons inquire into and determine if they are called to live out their faith life as a member of the Roman Catholic community. R.C.I.A. is open to any adult who wishes to learn more about the Catholic faith, including those interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church. Meeting times are Sunday mornings during the 8:00 AM Mass and Monday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Adult Catholic parishioners are needed in a variety of volunteer capacities such as: companion sponsors to a candidate or catechumen, R.C.I.A. Team member, and Catechist. Men's Fellowship
This I.C. Men's fellowship group meets every Wednesday evening at 8:30 PM and is open to all men of the parish. Each week the Gospel for the upcoming Sunday and how to apply the teachings of the Catholic Church to become better men, husbands and fathers. Contact Pete McCann, 262-0505 or the parish office.

Youth & Teen Faith Foundation

Sunday Pre-School Program
A preschool program is available for 3, 4 and 5(K) year olds on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 AM Mass. Classes begin in September and continue through mid-May. The "Children of God" early childhood Catechetical program is used and supplemented with prayer service. An Advent program and a Lenten program are given. the curriculum is designed to allow the children to discover God's present and love in the experience of self, family, neighborhood and the larger church community. Parish School of Religion (PSR)
The parish religious education program provides religious instruction and sacramental preparation for parish children who do not attend the parish school. The program covers grades 1 through 8. Classes begin in September and run through mid-May. Meeting time is Sunday morning from 10:30 to 11:15am in the Children's Center. Contact John Hoffman, 268-5217 or the parish office.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
VBS is a weeklong program in July where children, ages 4 to those entering the 5th grade, learn to embrace their Catholic Faith. Each year, a new and exciting theme is introduced to accent some aspect of our Catholic Faith. Previous themes included, "Behold Thy Mother", "Called to be a Saint", and "Building the Kingdom of God." Over 100 children participate each year and registration fills up quickly. Parents coordinate VBS.  Adult and teen volunteers are always needed to help make each year a unique success. The program runs Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 12 Noon. Teen Bible Study
The Teen Bible Study began for junior/senior high school students in the fall of 2008 with the teen version of the "Great Adventure Bible Study". The study is intended as an outreach to teens of the parish to bring the Bible alive by presenting the story of Salvation History. The program was so well received by teens and parents, it is now an on going program. Teen Bible Study meets every other Sunday evening, 7:00 - 8:30 PM in Marian Hall during the school year. The program is free, and pizza and refreshments are provided.
