Homework

·        Spelling: There will be no spelling unit this week.

·        Reading: We are doing a unit on Fairy Tales. We are performing Reader’s Theaters of different tales. We practiced our parts today.

·        Phonics/Writing: The students learned what a homonym is. We are also writing our own fairy tales. Students may choose to come up with their own story or they can modernize an old fairy tale. Please finish writing your fairy tale and include an illustration or cover. The entire Fairy Tale is due tomorrow.

·        Math: We are learning how to count money and make change. This is a tough concept for children. Please let your child be involved in this in the real-world, such as at the grocery store. We continued to practice counting money today.

Please continue to work with your child on basic facts. There are some great math websites, such as:

·        Health: We defined the vocabulary words from lessons 1 and 2 today. We also started reading lesson 3 about healthy grooming habits and lesson 4 about staying physically fit. We shared ways our families can stay active together, like riding bikes.

·        Religion: We started reading Ch.20 about the last 7 Commandments. We talked about honoring your father and mother.
